Unfounded jealousy sets the scene for this fantastical story of passionate error and romantic reconciliation. Driven mad by false suspicions that Queen Hermione has been unfaithful with his best friend, King Leontes imprisons his wife and exiles his newly born daughter. His friend flees, his wife is reported dead, and his only son dies. The tragedy seems unredeemable. However, sixteen years later across the seas, two young people fall in love and in their union lies the key to forgiveness and a magical reuniting of the past.
