Frequently Asked Questions

What eBook formats do you support?

eTextbookViewer supports version 1.2 of the Open eBook Publication Structure Specification (OEBPS) and our own extensions to that format.

Can I share a book with my friends?

Textbooks distributed by eTextbookShop may be copied between students who will be able to read the evaluation topics within the book, but only those who have purchased the book will be able to read, search and work with all the licenced content of the book.

What happens if I change my PC?

If you change your PC, or replace certain components within it, your textbook licences may no longer be valid. If this happens, contact us and we'll replace your licences with ones valid for your new PC configuration.

What operating systems does your software support?

Currently, eTextbookViewer supports later versions of Windows (XP and 2000). Our long-term plans are to include support for Macintosh and perhaps Linux, as we identify levels of need by authors, publishers and students alike.

What versions of Microsoft Word are supported by eTextbookCreator?

The eTextbookCreator Import from Word feature has been tested on Word 2002 (Office XP) and Word 2003 (Office 2003). Other versions of Word should work, so feel free to download and try the importer, and let us know your experiences.

Why do I get an error, No password set, when adding a new book?

The eTextbook format has been improved in version 1.0.6, and newly published books will not open in previous versions. Please upgrade to the latest version.
